Student Experience Coordinator – Queen Mary University of London

Job Description
This exciting new role will provide support and development focus within Club Sport to improve the student experience, whilst working closely with the Sports Participation Manager to continuously improve and expand our offering to the students here at QMUL.
QMSU represents and supports over 18,000 students who make up the diverse and vibrant student body at Queen Mary, University of London.

The Student Experience Coordinator (Sport) will assist in the improvement of the student experience within sport at QMUL, by overseeing the new programmes that will be implemented within the Club Sport, to enhance the sporting pathway, whilst ensuring that the sports clubs get the support and assistance they require to add to the offering. To supervise, deliver and develop effective student engagement programmes including new coached programmes, intramural leagues and NGB Activators to increase participation levels, and to enhance student development, leadership skills, life skills, employability and to promote involvement in sport to current and potential students, staff and the local community.

To seek ways to ensure students understand the range of activities and support available to them and to provide additional contact and support for students from less active backgrounds to help ensure their integration into mainstream sporting student life. To gather feedback from the students and adapt programmes to ensure that there is an offering for all where possible.

Applicants should have excellent communication skills and have the ability to work with a wide range of people. Experience or familiarity of working within a sporting and/or student environment would be desirable. Candidates must have the ability to work well under pressure, prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines.

The post is a fixed term post for one year. Starting salary will be in the range £20,915-25,600 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefits pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan and membership of the Health and Fitness Centre.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
