Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join the ambitious and successful Sports Science and Medicine team at Essex County Cricket Club. Based at the Cloudfm County Ground, under the guidance of the Head of Athlete Development, you will be a key member of our team. Ensuring that Essex players across all pathways receive outstanding sports medicine support in keeping with our philosophy to minimise injury risk and give them the best opportunity to perform at all levels from age group to professional and beyond.
Hours of Work-
. Attend the club on a regular basis (40 half days or 120 Hours per year) and be readily available to discuss player management via phone/message/email.
Key Responsibilities-
. Responsible for the oversight of the following governance areas for both Senior and Pathway players: Doping advice, Therapeutic exemptions and recreational drugs policy, Cardiac screening.
. Work closely with the MDT on illness and injury, including concussion management.
. Conduct annual medical screening on Senior and Pathway players.
. Be part of the Mental Health referral pathway and Welfare MDT
. Record medical notes on ECB online system
. To contribute to ongoing internal CPD and multidisciplinary meetings with all members of the Sports Science and Medicine Team.
. Liaise with ECB medical staff with respect to hosted international and 100 games based at the Cloudfm County Ground
Essential Criteria-
. Full registration with the General Medical Council
. Post-graduate qualification in SEM (MSc or FSEM diploma)
. DBS checked
. UKAD accredited advisor certificate
. Previous experience of working within a professional multidisciplinary team
. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, especially with other members of the coaching team and athletes.
. Competent in Microsoft excel and word.
. Able to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Desirable Criteria-
. GMC Specialist Register in SEM
