We’re looking for a talented and entrepreneurial Technical Content Executive to join our busy editorial team and take ownership of the creation and delivery of our technical content assets.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in a technical publishing role to take the next step and establish a reputation as an influential content executive capable of commissioning and delivering thought leadership and content assets that support an ambitious profession.

We’re looking for a self-starter; someone who sees the bigger picture, who is keen to network, makes connections and spots opportunities. You will be comfortable commissioning, writing and editing both technical and CPD-focused content. Whether you have experience working for a professional journal, membership body or in a research-based role, you will be confident generating ideas, as well as managing the full production of a content programme.

Key responsibilities

Creating a programme of technical content that will support the professional development of our members and raise the profile of the quality profession.
Writing, commissioning, editing and project managing the production of our technical content assets.
Generating ideas and concepts for features, articles and other content.
Identifying opportunities to leverage thought leadership.
Designing a distribution strategy to maximise return on investment, including maximising audiences and appealing to key stakeholders.
Ensuring all content supports the objectives of the organisation, is on brand, and aligned.
Driving thought leadership through networking with professionals and subject matter experts.
Reading source literature and attending relevant events to stay up to date with current thinking and ideas in the quality profession.
Working with colleagues to develop a knowledge/technical content brand that is viewed as a high-quality, trusted source of information for members and other stakeholders.

Experience and skills required

Experience working in a journalist, content writer or similar publishing/communications role.
Excellent writing skills, ideally in a technical magazine or journal environment.
Experience in writing about technical subjects for a range of audiences, from experts to amateurs.
Ability to write for a range of channels and formats, magazine, digitial etc.
Strong commissioning, editing and proofreading skills.
Ability to project manage content throughout the production process
Stakeholder management
Curious, seeks new trends and spots opportunities
Flexible with a positive, problem solving approach to work
