Greenhouse Sports aims to develop life skills for young people in London’s most disadvantaged communities through outstanding, intensive sports programmes delivered by inspirational coaches. We use the power of sport to inspire and motivate young people, so they can reach their full potential.
Our coaches work full time in mainstream secondary and Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools and community clubs to provide sport programmes across the capital that equip young people for life.
The Role:
We are looking to recruit a qualified, skilled Tennis Head Coach to lead our programme at Sarah Bonnell School. Working closely with the PE Department, the role will be based full-time in the school and will include planning, delivering and managing a comprehensive, high-quality coaching and mentoring programme.
You will plan and deliver breakfast, lunch time and afterschool clubs, peripatetic (1:1 or small groups) sessions, supporting some curriculum lessons (where agreed with the school) and develop regular competitive opportunities for all players. In addition, you will be required to develop holiday provision during half-terms and school holidays.
As a coach you will also work closely with the Impact Team to collect high-quality data to demonstrate the effectiveness of what we do and to quantify the difference we make to our young people. Data is collected at designated times throughout the year and includes; case studies, participant and coach questionnaires, skills and fitness testing. Our coaches also review the young peoples’ progress and set targets for their future development.
Greenhouse Sports is committed to Safeguarding & Child Protection and you will ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to at all times; maintaining accurate records of all registered participants, staff and volunteers at all planned sessions.
The Person:
To be considered for this role you must hold a minimum of LTA/NGB Level 3 Coaching Qualification (or equivalent) and have experience of successfully delivering fully inclusive programmes, preferably in a school, community or sports club setting.
You will demonstrate strong mentoring skills and experience, as well as being a confident and capable IT user with excellent administrative and organisational skills needed to effectively plan and manage the programme and capture all relevant data in a timely manner.
You will be highly passionate about the Greenhouse Sports mission, values and beliefs and helping young people learn and develop.
