U18s physiotherapist – Millwall Football Club

Job Description
Role Summary:
Millwall Football Club are looking to recruit a committed, knowledgeable and self-motivated Chartered Physiotherapist for the role of under 18s Physiotherapist to join our growing and successful Sports Science and Medicine department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within a Category 2 Academy and fulfil the requirements according to the EPPP system.
The role of the Academy Physiotherapist is fundamental to the long term vision of Millwall Football Club. The successful applicant will manage the U18 squad daily operations. This is a full time position that will require some evening work and also weekend commitments. Milllwall FC are committed to staff members continuing professional development. The successful candidate will occasionally be involved with the schoolboys as a part of their physical and professional development and must be prepared to work flexible hours, including mainly weekend sessions and some evenings when required.
This is an excellent opportunity for a pro-active individual, with a keen interest of working in football in a full time position. You will need to be up to date with current literature, understand the scope of practice, and seek to develop your practical skills alongside with opportunities to attend internal CPD.

Main Duties
Providing emergency first aid cover for all home and away games of U18s squad, and occasionally with U17/16s when required.
Clinical assessment of scholars, and making plan to return to play safely
Planning and organising indoors and outdoors rehabilitation for injured players.
Implement monitoring and screening strategies and deliver prehabilitation programs.
Upload all injuries and rehabilitation sessions on the PMA.
Communicate with coaches and sports scientists for training and daily plan
Liaise with the academy head of sports science and medicine to update for player’s rehabilitation progress.
Promoting the safeguarding and welfare of children within the academy
Provide alternative treatments, including soft tissue and manual therapy, within the scope of practice

Qualifications :
Chartered physiotherapist (MCSP)
HCPC member
FA ATTMiF (Level 5) or equivalent 1st aid qualification is essential to apply for the vacancy. In process of completing the course will also be acceptable.
Driving License
IT Literacy Skills
Personal characteristics:
Flexible working hours and timetable commitment, punctual and keeping good timing.
Flexible to cover away fixtures and long travels as required.
Experience of working in the sporting (football desirable) environment.
Strong communication skills.
Excellent organisation of planning’s programs .

Desirable Requirements:
Valid Safeguarding Certification.
Understanding of the EPPP requirements.
Experience of working in the academy football environment.
