The Governors of St Gabriel’s invite applications for the position of Vice-Principal following news of retirement.
St Gabriel’s is an independent day school, based in Newbury, Berkshire, founded in 1929 which incorporates Sandleford, our EYFS provision. At present there are approximately 500 pupils in the school.
Sandleford Priory dates back to the early Middle Ages and is set in a beautiful Grade 1 listed building within 54 acres of Capability Brown parkland, which provides a gracious setting in which to work.
The Vice-Principal is responsible to the Principal and holds a pivotal role at St Gabriel’s assisting the Principal in the leadership and management of the School, together with its day to day running. St Gabriel’s values a flat leadership structure with distributed leadership that allows far greater empowerment of senior and middle leadership. Our senior leadership teams focus on the interactions, as well as the actions, of the leaders involved.
As a member of the Executive and Head of Senior School, the Vice-Principal shares in all policy and decision making at all levels and, together with the Bursar and Head of Junior School, assists the Principal in securing the informed and enthusiastic support of Governors with regard to the future strategic direction of the School.
