Women / Girls Officer – Welsh Cycling – North Wales

Job Description

To plan, deliver, facilitate and evaluate a co-ordinated programme of cycling activities for women and girls that helps Welsh Cycling meet its Strategic objectives and supports the cycling community in Wales, in particular introducing and developing Breeze in North Wales.

Responsibilities
• Work closely with Welsh Cycling’s development team to establish and maintain positive relationships with key partners, British Cycling, Local Authorities, clubs, community and voluntary organisations
• Lead in the implementation of the Women and Girls operational plan in North Wales and in particular the delivery of Breeze
• Recruit and support volunteers of the Women and Girls project (e.g. officials, coaches and Breeze Champions), including training, continuing professional development and networking opportunities
• Create and support regional hubs to develop cycling opportunities for women and girls including competitions and coaching
• Support the development of cycling in Wales, through partnerships such as local authorities, schools, workplaces and other organisations
• Assist in the communication of the project through various channels such as social media
• Carry out administrative duties, including providing information in a timely manner, in the required format, to facilitate the collation of management information

General
• Represent the National Development Manager at meetings, as and when required
• Undertake any other tasks appropriate to this level of responsibility i.e. national responsibilities
• Be a positive role model for Welsh Cycling to women and girls

Continuing Professional Development
• Maintain knowledge of Welsh Cycling’s current programmes, policies and practices
• Undertake continuous professional development relevant to the post and personal training needs supporting future career advancement, including cycling specific qualifications
• Maintain an awareness of cycling products and services

Additional Information
• As the post involves working with children and young people, the post holder will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check
• This post requires the post holder to regularly carry out work during evening and weekend periods
• This post is likely to be home based, therefore an adequate working space should be made available
