Job Description
As part of a new initiative to develop a performance centre for women’s football, the University of South Wales Students’ Union wishes to appoint a coach to oversee the playing programme of its competitive teams and to inform the strategy around the women’s game at the institution. Working within the Union’s framework, the post-holder will link with faculty, facility providers and national governing body staff and will be
responsible for:
• Planning and leading the joint training session for 1st and 2nd teams.
• Providing tactical and motivational guidance
• Assisting the captains in setting the team for the upcoming matches
• Attending matches to analyse the play in games to identify areas for improvement for the training sessions
• Upholding and reinforcing the values of USW Sport, ensuring that player behaviour reflects them
• Creating a positive, inclusive environment for playing and training.
Ideally you:
• Are a highly experienced and dynamic coach and administrator
• Have at least UEFA B qualification
• Have worked within the women’s game
• Have an understanding of the British Universities Colleges Sport structure
• Are passionate about football
• Have excellent communication skills, coupled with fundamental personal qualities such as being friendly, approachable, organised and punctual
