Job Description
The Running Charity
Homelessness can happen at any time and to anyone. And when it happens to a young person it can affect them for the rest of their life. At least 83,000 young people in the UK are homeless right now and, with homeless young people almost twice as likely to die as their non-homeless peers, there is an urgent need to push for change.
We believe that running and fitness builds resilience, confidence and self-esteem and use this to improve the lives of 16-25 year-olds who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
We deliver running and fitness programmes to homeless young people, offering customised goal setting and development plans that look to improve fitness, life skills and wellbeing.
The Person
The Running Charity is looking for a passionate, organised and inclusive person to join our team. You’ll need to be highly motivated, resilient, and able to work under your own initiative.
You will have a track record of delivering women only and mixed gender running/fitness sessions in a group environment as well as experience working with young women with complex needs.
We require an excellent communicator; you’ll be working directly with our members, core team, volunteers and charity partners on a regular basis via email, telephone and face-to-face. You’ll also need to be hard-working, compassionate and hold to the highest levels of integrity.
Experience collating data and tracking progressions of people would be highly advantageous. It would also be positive if you have experience delivering self-defense, creating content for social media and comfortable in a start-up environment.
