Job Description
Worcester Warriors would like to open applications for the position of Women’s Head of Medical. The role is full time and will be based at the Warriors High Performance Centre at Sixways Stadium, Worcester.
Hours of Work: Such hours as necessary to carry out your duties. This will involve a minimum of 36 hours per week and will include working outside normal office hours at evenings and weekends and on Public Holidays.
Location: The normal place of work is the Sixways Stadium, however you may be required to travel to and work at other locations, to satisfy the requirements of the position.

ROLE SUMMARY
This role will be the medical lead for Worcester Warriors women, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, to support all players.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of all players.
• Where appropriate, attend, contribute to and provide regular reports at appropriate meetings associated with the programme and to key stakeholders including the club and governing body (RFU).
• Provide the DOR and associated coaches, with regular progress reports for all players and update their availability for training and matches.
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide care and treatment for all club players to ensure they return to performance is as timely a fashion as possible.
• Autonomously plan, develop and implement treatment and rehabilitations for all injured players.
• Accurate and detailed record keeping in-line with standards set by the Health Professions Council (HCPC), using the RugbySquad Medical injury & illness recording system.
• Develop and implement an effective prehab programme across the women’s teams.
• Provide pitch side cover for all required women’s games and training sessions.
• Daily maintenance treatment and delivery of rehabilitation of players.
• Liaise with surgeons, consultants and other health-care professionals in order that the players receive the best possible medical care.
• Act as the Clinical Governance Lead and take responsibility for delivering against the RFU’s minimum operating standards through the audit process.
• Demonstrate an understanding of established concepts in the sports medicine sphere; e.g. commitment to high standards, evidence-based practice, personal and team development and risk management at all match and training venues.
• Take an active role in all club CPD and organise development opportunities for staff within the Women’s medical department.
• Flexibility and willingness to work unsociable hours and weekends.

Person Specification
Essential:
• A degree level qualification in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy or Sports Rehabilitation
• PHICIS Level 2 qualification or equivalent Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh endorsed Sports Specific Immediate Care course certificate
• Excellent clinical and interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills
• 2 year’s experience working within a professional / elite sporting environment
• The ability to be a true team player in a multidisciplinary support team. Capable of developing effective relationships with other staff members and players.

Desirable:
• Masters qualification in Sports Physio, Therapy or Sports Rehab
• Accreditation to a suitable professional body
• PHICIS Level 3 qualification or equivalent
• Experience of working within Rugby Union or Rugby 7’s
• Experience of working within women’s team sports
