Youth Engagement Manager – Let Me Play – Hammersmith

Job Description
Let Me Play is a sports, education and outreach organisation that specifically works with young people. Established in 2004, Let Me Play started off as a specialist residential sports camp organisation. Through rapid growth and diversification, Let Me Play now provide coaching and teaching programmes for schools and colleges across London, PR for major sports brands and delivery of government projects.

In 2011 Let Me Play launched two education centres in London that delivered a series of sports related and functional skills qualifications to young people aged 16 to 21. We now operate out of 9 locations across London and our courses include Performing Arts, Catering, Beauty and of course Sports.

Our objective is to engage with as many 16 to 21 year olds as possible, putting them through basic qualifications and then helping them into further education, apprenticeships and employment.

In order to do that, we are looking to further expand our education team by employing a Youth Engagement Manager.

    The role includes:
Recruitment of NEETs aged 16-18 for our education courses across London for September and February starts.
Delivery of open days.
Developing and implementing a recruitment strategy.
Interviewing and assessing potential candidates.
Liaison with youth workers and councillors across London.
Maintaining excellent relationships with referral agents, both internal and external.
Meeting targets in terms of ensuring all courses start with the maximum number of learners.
Ensuring excellent retention of learners across all centres.

Reporting to the Education Manager.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Degree educated
Ability to build rapport quickly with young people
Experience of youth work in London with hard to reach young people
Highly motivated
Very organised
Good presentation skills
Able to work as part of a team and independently
Excellent communication skills
Totally RELIABLE
Commitment to raising standards
Good ICT Skills
