Youth Engagement Officer – Burnley FC in the Community

Job Description
Burnley FC in the Community continues to embark on an exciting new chapter in its commitment to serving Burnley and the surrounding areas. The club’s official charity is now looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated individual to the full time role of Youth Engagement Officer. The role will involve working closely with the Social Inclusion Manager on a range of community based initiatives, ensuring our projects are accessible to all.

As part of this role, you will be required to;
• Engage and recruit eligible young people onto all Social Inclusion programmes, whilst assessing and establishing their needs and levels of support required
• Co-ordinate and deliver an expanding range of provision for young people
• Take part in regular outreach work in Burnley and the surrounding areas, promoting all BFCitC projects
• Co-ordinate a team of casual coaches to ensure all sessions are delivered to the highest quality.
• Develop and deliver activities and workshops to a variety of participants
• Be a passionate advocate for all BFCitC Social Inclusion projects

With the support of the Social Inclusion Manager, the successful applicant will also be required to ensure strict monitoring and evaluation processes are followed, in order to provide the necessary evidence to all programme stakeholders.

An ideal candidate will have;
• A degree/HND in a relevant subject such as Youth Work, Sport or Community Development
• A 1st4Sport Level 1 Award in Coaching Football
• Experience of working on football/sport based youth diversionary projects including experience of working with hard to reach young people
• Excellent communication and organisation skills
• Experience of working on youth intervention projects
• A good understanding of the East Lancashire community
• A broad knowledge of barriers that service users may face and strategies to address where appropriate

Applicants will need to have a flexible approach to work and be able to work some evenings and match days as required. You will require a full, valid UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle.
