Youth Worker – Leicester City Football Club Community Trust

Job Description
Responsible to: Community Cohesion Manager
Contract Term: 20 Hour Contract- 1 Year Fixed Term
Location: Leicester City FC, King Power Stadium, Filbert Way, Leicester, LE2 7FL
Salary: dependant on experience
Responsible for: Delivery and supporting LCFC Community Trust youth work projects, either outreach in local communities or onsite at King Power Stadium.

Job Purpose
Using the brand of the Premier League and Leicester City FC, the youth worker will be required to develop and promote high quality youth work in partnership with staff and young people within LCFC Community Trust.

Duties and Responsibilities
To assist the Community Cohesion Manager and Lead Youth Worker to deliver activities in community settings, which enable disadvantaged young people to gain access to provision, which will create inspiring opportunities for them to participate. This will include engaging young people in shaping the services they receive & supporting/mentoring other young people to engage in the programme.

Projects:
The post holder will also need to have the ability to work across multiple projects, such as;
o PL/PFA Refugee Integration Project (Main Project)
o PL/PFA Your City Your Choice
o Premier League Kicks
o Police Community Champions
o PL ‘We-Can’ Disability Programme (SEN)

Specifically, the Youth Worker will:
Delivery-
• Deliver sessions to particularly hard to reach young people in areas of high need and deprivation, as and when required.
• Develop relationships with young people attending LCFC Trust programmes.
• Assess needs and deliver personal, social and educational activities to young people aged predominantly 14+.
• Enable young people to develop their own projects and raise funds.
• Guide young people through challenging periods and help signpost them onto their next steps.
• Deliver specialised educational workshops.
• Work with the rest of the Community Cohesion team to deliver targets.
• Deliver a high quality service at all times.
• Work with care and social workers, parents/guardians, and other youth community groups to promote young people’s requirements.

Administration-
• Ensure all third party/registers/risk assessments/ section plans are up to date and signed.
• Contribute to the processes of forward planning, monitoring and evaluation.
• Develop working practices in line with LCFC Trust equality, diversity and safeguarding polices.
• Be aware of, adhere to and assist with the development of health and safety practices.
• Maintain the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Development-
• Help identify PR opportunities and case studies
• Keep up to date with relevant training in youth work

Supervision in the workplace from the Lead Youth Worker and Community Cohesion Manager.

Main Responsibilities
Community Engagement:
1. Prepare and implement relevant schemes of work, education workshops and sports provision, ensuring high quality, enjoyable learning experiences – centred on the needs of the participants, specifically identifying & meeting the needs of looked after children, refugees and asylum seekers, hard to reach young people and care leavers.
2. Enabling participants to become engaged in local activities and develop self-confidence via tailored programmes.
3. Providing support/advice to young people and facilitate their personal development plans, including gaining accredited outcomes.
4. To bring together informal learning and sport to ensure positive outcomes for young people.
5. Working one on one with participants from across LCFC initiatives to help measure the impact of the programmes.
Programme Development and Delivery:
6. To deliver in accordance with all LCFC Schemes of Work.
7. To produce & adhere to up to date session plans for all delivery.
8. To adhere to all health & safety and safeguarding regulations and protocols, including; completing all risk assessment procedures, and into taking account that this target group of young people are from socially excluded backgrounds and will present challenging behaviours.
Partnership Work:
9. To work through a partnership approach to identify the barriers preventing easy access to services for young people within their locality.
10. Work in partnership with other workers and agencies as necessary.
11. To engage young people & gain their respect, understanding their circumstances and barriers to participation and assist them to overcome these, using a non-judgemental approach.

Events and Training:
12. Identify young people in conjunction with LCC staff and managers who will benefit from the programmes.
13. Represent LCFC Community Trust at all local community events across our target areas of delivery.
14. Coordinate relevant training, learning and development opportunities as required.

Monitoring and Evaluation:
15. To carry out administrative duties as necessary and ensure monitoring systems are consistently maintained e.g. data collection, records of attendance etc. for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
16. To quality assure programmes and ensure that evidence is gathered to demonstrate their positive impact.
Other:
17. To provide an accessible and flexible approach at all times, including the working of unsocial hours, evening and weekend working as necessary and other duties as reasonably requested.
18. Adhere to policies and procedures outlined by the Community Cohesion Manager

Communication:
19. Have well developed written & verbal communications skills taking account of a wide range of audiences, including a diverse group, of young people, colleagues & partner agencies.
