Food Manufacture Associate Editor – William Reed Business Media – Crawley

Are you an ambitious, talented, multi-media journalist, hungry for that first big break into editorial management?

Could you write and broadcast convincingly about the latest developments in manufacturers’ battle to boost output, while curbing costs, plus the continuing debate about producers’ role in reducing dietary sugar, fat and salt? Could you interview a captain of industry or a factory manager to lay bare their business and technical philosophy?

If the answer is yes, Food Manufacture would like to hear from you. We want to recruit an Associate editor to contribute features, news and business analysis to our print title and multi-media news to FoodManufacture.co.uk.

Knowledge of food and drink manufacturing industry is less important than a passion to break top stories, the ability to learn quickly, attention to detail, strong organisational skills and a commitment to multi-media journalism, including video news and audio podcasts. If you lack those skills now, we’ll help you develop them quickly.

Key tasks include: taking responsibility for the flagship sections of the magazine, such as The Big Interview and Me & My Factory, the supplement Food Ingredients, Health & Nutrition and assisting the editor in producing the magazine.

You will also contribute online content to FoodManufacture.co.uk, which enjoys an audience of more than 100,000 independently-audited unique monthly visitors.

Reporting to the editor, the successful candidate will relish the challenges of switching between print, online and social media outlets. We want to recruit a confident, creative and determined individual who can switch from presenting a video interview with a government minister about food exports to producing a feature that gets under the skin of a food factory manager.

You will also need to be adept at translating complex scientific, technical and business information into compelling content for our print, online and face-to-face audiences.

If you can separate the fact from the fiction about the latest developments in food and drink manufacturing, and are passionately committed to top standards in independent multi-media, business-to-business journalism, this job is for you.
