Priory School is a large, expanding primary school, with approximately 850 pupils. The school has a 50 place resource unit for children with a range of complex needs, including physical, sensory and medical difficulties, ASD and social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
The school was judged to be ‘Good’ by Ofsted in February 2015.
Ofsted’s report also identified the resource unit as an area for improvement. In order to achieve this, there will be a restructure of the staffing and grouping of children within the resource unit. This post is the first stage of this process and the successful candidate will be in a position to manage the changes. You will work closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to ensure that there are significant improvements within the resource base.

Have significant experience of teaching and managing within special educational settings.
Be able to think strategically and creatively and support the Governing Body, Headteacher and Deputy Headteachers to take forward initiatives in the next stage of the school development.
Be a highly-motivated individual with a commitment to providing high quality learning opportunities for all of our children.
Demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills and use these to inspire and support colleagues in order to build on our school’s many strengths.
Lead a team by example, showing a clear understanding of what constitutes outstanding teaching and learning acrossthe curriculum, particularly for children with a range of SEN, as well as the ability to communicate this to others.
Be an outstanding, inspirational teacher with an excellent record of classroom practice and high expectations of achievement and behaviour.
