Job Description:

A talented Art Editor with photo shoot experience who is confident at managing their own workload, juggling projects and managing budgets. Food experience is a huge benefit.

Key Responsibilities:

Design layouts for all sections of the magazine.
Attend meetings with the editorial department and suggest ideas for layout concepts.
Manage own time plus additional design resource budget to ensure deadlines are met and budget remains within amount allocated.
Picture research for features, establishing clear design concepts to complement and showcase features.
Check cromalins and liaise with production team when required.
Oversee work flow and freelance layouts.
Organise and art direct cover & food photo shoots as required. Brainstorm ideas for the shoot and recipes, create a mood board, undertake the prop styling and brief the photographer – under approval of Art Director/Creative Director.
Design advertorials, working with the Advertising department and Client to ensure it fulfils the brief (as required).
Invoice processing and general admin, including colour books and dummy walls.
Liaise with the Client regularly in order to obtain required images and files as requested.
To read widely, collect tears and constantly seek inspiration for new, innovative designs.

Skills/experience needed:

The ideal candidate will have experience of magazine, digital and online design. Know their way around Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Previous use of WordPress would also be a bonus! Be brimming with creative and exciting ideas for both print and digital design and have an interest in food.
