The Role
As a member of SCM World’s content team, the Content Editor is responsible for ensuring that our portfolio of written and online content is produced to the highest professional standards of quality and delivered to agreed deadlines.
Specific duties include
Copy editing and editorial production of monthly research reports, weekly blogs, case studies/interviews, data snapshots and best practice insights
Writing, editing and proof-reading copy for our websites, event guides, marketing brochures and other collateral
Compiling and drafting e-newsletters and e-alerts for our corporate members
Compiling weekly intra-company content team updates
Ensuring that all copy is accurate, grammatically correct and follows a consistent house style
Ensuring that charts and graphics are clear, accurate and meaningful
Devising and managing production schedules and keeping staff to their commitments
The Ideal Candidate
You will need to have an excellent command of written English, grammar and punctuation, laser-like attention to detail and be passionate about instantly comprehensible, jargon-free communication. You will also need to be calm, well organised and flexible, able to work both independently and collaboratively with other members of our content, marketing and operations teams.
A strong interest in big business is essential. Knowledge of supply chain management would be an advantage. You are likely to have at least 1-2 years’ experience in an editorial or business-to- business communications role and be familiar with Mac-based publishing software.
