Deputy Editor Wireless Telecoms Portfolio – Mark Allen Group

Deputy editor, Wireless Telecoms portfolio
(Land Mobile, Tetra Today, B-APCO Journal)

MA Business is seeking a dynamic deputy editor with a can-do attitude and the desire to make a difference to join its fast-growing wireless telecoms portfolio, which encompasses the monthly Land Mobile, bi-monthly Tetra Today and quarterly B-APCO Journal.

The wireless communications portfolio is part of the MA Business, an award-winning B2B information and events business. It works across many sectors including engineering, print, design, recycling and HR. Parent company Mark Allen Group was the only publishing company to be listed in The Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 ranking earlier this year, recognising its rapid international sales growth.
This is an exciting time to join the Wireless Telecoms team, offering the chance for the successful candidate to help shape the products for the future, with a new content strategy, design and website all planned.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can manage tight deadlines, be able to demonstrate commercial acumen and possess the ability to generate and execute creative concepts to grow the business.

Along with a journalism qualification, exceptional writing and organisational skills are a must, as the role requires someone who can write and commission original, compelling features as well as having a strong news background. You will also have deep experience and knowledge of digital publishing and a knack of spotting the best ways to make the most out of content.

This is a role for someone who thrives on detail while always seeing the bigger picture. It requires someone with an innate ability to multitask and build relationships, who has plenty of energy and a desire to take ownership of certain parts of the portfolio. This includes the quarterly B-APCO Journal, produced on behalf of British APCO – the leading UK association for professionals in public safety communications and information systems.

The successful candidate will also be expected to represent the brand at numerous national and international events in the market and will be expected to support the commercial team in key account meetings. An interest in technology and business is essential.
