About the Role
We are looking for a bright, creative and inspirational editorial leader to grow audience volumes and engagement across all digital platforms on selected Hearst health related content brands including Net Doctor. The Digital Editor is responsible for writing, sourcing, shaping and managing highly searchable and sharable content across multiple channels including Hearst websites, social media channels, mobile and tablet offerings. The role provides the crucial bridge between Hearst’s world class health content and all digital platforms.
Responsibilities Include
Leading the creation and sourcing of original, innovative and engaging content;
Ensuring content is published to best in class SEO guidelines;
Distributing that content through multiple digital channels;
Maximising the use of the social landscape;
Maximising content sharing opportunities throughout the Hearst UK and international network;
Working closely with our Editorial and Commercial teams to ensure the content of our digital properties matches the brand vision, strategy and commercial targets;
Working within a lively team towards a unified goal of achieving the very best in content;
Building and maintaining strong Editorial, Sales, Digital and Publishing relationships;
Analysing performance and pro-actively seeking new areas for development;
Keeping abreast of the latest digital developments and using them to inform ongoing strategies;
Managing, motivating and supporting peers across the Brands’ Senior Management teams about all relevant digital developments
Working within a budget to deliver a strong return on investment.
About You
You are a brilliant digitally focussed writer;
You understand what makes content engaging
You are curious, externally competitive but a strong internal team player.
You have experience editing a Consumer website and at least five years’ experience of working in digital content roles;
You have a passion for social media, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest;
You are well versed in using a range of digital platforms to deliver a message;
You have strong organisation and communication skills with an ability to multi-task;
You have attention to detail and can work both quickly and accurately;
You are engaged by print and publishing in general and excited to represent Hearst across all digital platforms.
