In addition to developing the site TheMediaBriefing also hosts a range of highly regarded international conferences and events including Digital Media Strategies, Monetising Media and The British Media Awards.
About the role
The editor and chief analyst of TheMediaBriefing is responsible for shaping the editorial content and voice of one of the most influential publications covering the global media industry.
They are responsible for all of TheMediaBriefing’s editorial staff and output, ranging from analysis and commentary on TheMediaBriefing.com through to social media accounts and our daily newsletter.
The ideal candidate will be capable of working in a range of formats, from analytical articles and interviews through to visual and data journalism as well as video. They will be motivated to stand at the forefront of the key discussions in the industry, and will be adept at nurturing and growing a community of high-level media leaders.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading TheMediaBriefing’s content strategy as a journalist, analyst and manager
Maintaining the exceptionally high standard of editorial content
Content and format innovation
The day-to-day running of TheMediaBriefing.com and related output
Growing TheMediaBriefing’s editorial team internationally
Developing and nurturing TheMediaBriefing’s audience
Ensuring coverage and providing representation at key industry events
Working with the general manager on new product development
Co-ordinating technological development
Previous experience covering the media, in particular from a business angle, is preferred.
