WTiN, the world’s leading information provider for the global textile industry, is seeking an editor with strong B2B experience to further develop the potential of key subscription web channels and magazines, as well as special publications and events within its expanding portfolio.
The successful candidate will lead the editorial and commercial development of a related selection of international magazines, online channels, show newspapers, etc, working closely with Sales and Marketing, and will be responsible for the programme development of associated conferences, awards, etc. The role requires a strategic understanding of the influences and trends in B2B publishing and the ability to identify and grasp editorial opportunities that will maximise both subscription and advertising income.
It is anticipated that the selected candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in a responsible role in a similar publishing environment. Textile industry knowledge will be helpful but is not essential.
The role will include:
Leadership in developing the editorial profile and programme of allocated publications to maximise subscriber and advertiser interest
Planning and editing of print publications
Maintaining the flow of regular, quality editorial on one or more web channels
Writing industry-oriented features and analysis for both the web and print publications
Sourcing/commissioning editorial contributions and managing an editorial budget
Video interviewing for online broadcast
Conference/event development in liaison with our Events team
Attendance and reporting at textile industry events around the world
Candidates must have the following skills and attributes:
Strong editorial judgement and editing skills
Good commercial sense and the willingness to work closely with both Sales and Marketing
Ability to work to several deadlines at once
Initiative in identifying and reacting to opportunities and threats
Creativity in ideas and problem solving
Understanding of social media
Evidence of skill in video journalism and editing will be an advantage
The role will be based at our central Leeds offices.
