Following an internal promotion, the Meat Trades Journal portfolio of brands is seeking an accomplished and experienced B2B journalist who embraces change and can challenge an energetic team to deliver sparkling and engaging content across print, digital and F2F for both UK and global audiences .
We are looking for a charismatic individual with an innate ability to gel with a wide reader and customer base and who has the vision to help shape future strategy and deliver long-term sustainable growth. The successful applicant will be able to identify content and commercial opportunities across all platforms and implement ideas. Day to day you will contribute fully to the generation of content, build positive commercial relationships and act as an ambassador for the brands in the UK and overseas.
The editor of Meat Trades Journal and Global Meat News is a figurehead for the brand and all of its allied activities in the UK meat sector, and the ambassador overseas. He or she will play a pivotal role in driving the reach and profitability of existing F2F activity. They will shape and lead a cohesive content strategy that delivers on the agreed objectives across the brands’ portfolio UK and overseas, leading and managing a team of three journalists. They will use all available communication channels: print, video, social, F2F to meet the agreed objectives and work with the publisher and commercial teams to identify and capitalise on new revenue streams for the brands both UK and overseas.
The magazine is known for its high editorial standards, which must be maintained and as such, personal copy output is vital to the role as is activity online and via social.
Although elements of the editor’s work will be delegated, it is vital that he or she accepts responsibility for the integrity, legality, and performance, of his team to ensure the brands’ positive profiles are maintained.

Ability to deliver sparkling copy, and value-added content to demanding daily deadlines
First class interviewing, news reporting and editing skills
Proven eye for detail and strategic thinking
Strong leadership and people management skills
Experience of project management with a track record of innovation and implementation of change
Charisma to represent the title to target audience and customers
A clear understanding of budgets
At ease with multi-media content solutions and able to apply effective strategies for integration within the core offer
