AFP is looking for a highly motivated and talented reporter for a full-time position as its English-language Scandinavia correspondent based in Stockholm.

The successful candidate will be an English native-speaker or have exceptional English writing skills and will have very good knowledge of Swedish or another Scandinavian language.

A genuine all-rounder, the ideal candidate will be able to switch effortlessly between reporting on politics, business, culture, sport and lifestyle from the five countries the Stockholm bureau covers (Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Norway).

He or she will also be brimming with feature ideas and keen to bring this crucial region to life for AFP’s international readership.

The job will occasionally involve translating stories from AFP’s French-language production so a good level of French is a must.

The candidate will need to be able to work in a fast-paced wire environment, writing quickly and fluently for an international general news audience.

The ability to shoot news and features videos would be a strong advantage. Driver’s licence required.

Salary commensurate with experience. Starting date ASAP.
