SC Magazine provides IT security professionals with in-depth and unbiased information via its website articles, videos, (www.scmagazineuk.com), webinars, print magazine and live events. Timely news, comprehensive analyses, cutting-edge features, contributions from thought leaders, and the best, most extensive collection of product reviews in the business are our hallmarks.
SC Magazine, a Haymarket Business Media publication, is looking for a Reporter to work in its Twickenham (London) office.
Cyber-crime is one of the fastest-growing criminal activities in the world. And it’s never been more important to the pros who specialise in defending their organisations against these online attacks to have an independent information resource that gives them much-needed news, features, product reviews and events to help them tackle their day-to-day responsibilities more effectively.
The reporter we need will be dedicated to supporting SC Magazine’s long-standing position as the leading brand in the information security marketplace, as well as helping to maintain the award-winning publication’s reputation for strongly-written, objective, leading-edge articles in the magazine and on the website.
In addition to the main role of reporter for both the magazine and website, the pro filling this post will assist where needed with activities related to keeping the website up-to-date, accurate and informative for our loyal readers. Both website and hardcopy activities will call on this person to bring fresh ideas to the table, adhere to deadlines, prioritise tasks, stay organised and establish a strong network of contacts.
The successful candidate will be tech-savvy (some knowledge of cyber-crime and data security is desirable), with both glowing news- and feature-writing abilities. He/she should confidently handle both face-to-face and phone meetings with senior industry executives, government leaders and other industry luminaries. From making the rounds, this reporting pro should bring some timely, enterprise and lively story ideas to the table, as well as have a mind’s eye to break the big story and see compelling ways of presenting stories to readers.
In addition, the successful candidate will be able to comfortably and confidently moderate online and live events, as well as host online video and podcast interviews. This means participating in events, such as the SC Magazine Awards, SC Congress conferences & expos, virtual conferences and other industry happenings. Thus, tenacity and sociability also are key traits. Travel will be involved.
They will be playing a visible role at SC Magazine and must be ready to hit the ground running with this tight-knit editorial team.
