HFM, the leading resource for global hedge fund news, analysis and the sector’s most respected events, is seeking a bright, tenacious and ambitious senior journalist for one of its specialist brands, CTA Intelligence.
Read by senior management at the leading global CTAs (commodity trading advisors), systematic funds, and managed futures businesses, CTA Intelligence provides the latest news, analysis, interviews, compliance advice and comment on the biggest issues affecting this growing area of the alternative investment industry.
The successful applicant will be responsible for CTA Intelligence’s dedicated website, weekly email newsletter and monthly print magazine, as well as helping to shape content for monthly panel discussion events in London, New York and Chicago.
They will work with HFM’s advertising, marketing, events and production teams to enable the title to reach new heights of quality, relevance and reader penetration.
The successful applicant will also be expected to occasionally pitch and contribute relevant news and analysis to appear in HFM’s flagship hedge fund title HFMWeek.

Applicants must have:
A proven ability to break exclusive news and write compelling and insightful analysis
An understanding of the managed futures or hedge fund sector. We will also consider outstanding candidates with experience reporting more generally on the financial sector.
Keen analytical and feature writing abilities – we want a candidate with the ability to drill down into the sector to uncover emerging trends and use data imaginatively to inform our readers.
Excellent networking skills. The candidate should have a proven track record of developing contacts and sources. We expect all of our journalists to regularly meet hedge fund senior management and other relevant companies and to interact with their industry and readers.
The ability to creatively edit a monthly magazine and weekly newsletter – the candidate should be innovative when it comes to content ideas, regularly engage with the readership and create a product that oozes quality and detail.
Excellent time management and organisational skills in juggling a busy schedule.
The ability to develop content and cultivate relationships with key industry figures for CTA Intelligence and HFM events and conferences.
