HFM, the leading news and analysis resource for the global hedge fund sector, is seeking a talented, ambitious and driven financial journalist to edit a new title focussed on alternative credit funds.
This is an exciting opportunity to spearhead the development of a launch, backed up and supported by a brand that is now the leading provider of information to the hedge fund management industry.
The new title will focus on covering alternative credit strategies – including, mortgage backed securities, leveraged loans, CLOs, long/short credit, event driven credit, distressed and mezzanine – and the performance, fund launches, investor and regulatory issues that impact this vibrant segment of the global hedge fund sector.
Published by specialist financial information provider Pageant Media, HFM’s readership – across a number of information channels including HFMWeek, CTAIntelligence, HFMTechnology and HFMCompliance – is made up of the senior management of hedge funds across the world, offering them unrivalled breaking news, in-depth analysis and insightful comment on the sector.
The successful applicant will be an integral part of HFM’s ten-strong editorial team which works across London and New York.
They will need to be comfortable taking charge of a new title, while working with a team that has built a reputation for providing the most insightful news, analysis and opinion on the hedge fund space.
The candidate will be expected to build up and maintain a healthy contacts book of funds, professionals and service providers working in alternative credit.

A strong track record as a financial journalist, breaking a steady stream of exclusive stories.
Have covered, or have a genuine interest in covering, the credit and fixed-income markets.
Proven ability to create and edit insightful copy that is respected and valued by a demanding readership.
The ability to break news within a competitive online information environment.
A great understanding of the way digital and print media can be best used to engage with readers and provide innovative ways to fulfil their professional information needs.

Excellent networking skills. The candidate should have a proven track record of developing contacts and sources. We expect all of our journalists to regularly meet hedge fund senior management and relevant companies and to interact with their industry and readers.
Excellent time management and organisational skills in juggling a busy schedule.
