Pharmaphorum is looking for a senior reporter to generate high-quality news and insight on the pharma industry and healthcare issues.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years’ experience of writing about the pharmaceutical industry, but journalists with the right skills working in other fields will also be considered.

Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, healthcare systems, the growing role of patients and new technologies would be a strong advantage.

Experience of writing to tight daily deadlines and strong interpersonal skills are essential. A well-established method of finding exclusive stories and establishing useful contacts is highly desirable.

Additionally, strong writing, numerical, analytical skills and an ability to write authoritative commentary pieces is also required.

Key Responsibilities:

Interviewing people in a range of different positions including pharma and biotech leaders, health service leaders, healthcare professionals and patient advocates
Producing concise and accurate copy according to the pharmaphorum house style
Meeting daily deadlines
Researching and writing in-depth feature articles
Creating and uploading news content for the website
Contributing to pharmaphorum’s social media activities
Using contacts to maintain a flow of news and analysis pieces including pharma industry contacts, analysts, doctors, patient organisations and patient advocates
Seeking out and investigating stories using your contacts, press releases and other media
Attending press conferences and company meetings and conferences to generate stories
Working closely with other editorial team members to maintain pharmaphorum’s editorial standards
