About the role
Do you have a nose for a story, top-notch research and writing skills and the desire to make a difference in consumers’ lives – and pockets?
When Which? uncovered the mis-selling of PPI, it didn’t just result in compensation; it changed the rules so consumers got a fairer deal in the future. And our current sneaky fees campaign is challenging the industry on anything from hidden car insurance costs to baffling mortgage jargon.
Many of our campaigning successes start with editorial investigations for Which? magazine and sister-title Which? Money, carried out by our award-winning team of personal finance journalists. Now, we’re looking for an experienced Senior Researcher/Writer to join our team and produce compelling content based on rigorous, in-depth research. The successful candidate will cover anything from credit cards to credit scores; from financial scams to ticket fees. The next big money story could be right around the corner…
What we’re looking for
So we’ll be looking to you – a talented individual who can translate your research insights into engaging, consumer-focused content – to find it. With a passion for money matters, coupled with an eye for opportunities to bring about positive change, you’ll aim to get to the bottom of the financial issues that matter to real people.
You’ll impress our expert team with your journalistic skills, analytical mind and investigative drive, to say nothing of your constant stream of new story ideas. Your ability to write fluent, must-read copy for a consumer audience will also leap out, as will your knack of jumping between short and long-term projects at will. A background in personal finance would be an advantage, but we will consider candidates with transferable skills from other areas.
What we offer
We’ll expect a lot of you, but you can expect just as much in return. Which? has one of the most comprehensive rewards packages around – one that includes a generous pension scheme, 28 days’ holiday, private medical insurance, free life assurance, interest-free season ticket loan and much more besides.
