Further information
With a special focus on Motorsports, but also covering Rugby, Football, Athletics and Cricket, you will be tasked with rapidly increasing traffic and building a loyal audience of UK sports fans. You will execute the editorial agenda; nurture a broad pool of influential and forward-thinking contributors, and produce great content that consistently stands out and innovates. We are looking for a true digital native with an excellent knowledge of search, social media, online content formats and distribution, who can create and package must-click-must-share stories.
You will deliver a minimum of six original pieces of editorial content a week, through a mixture of commissioning, self-penned work, and content from our international colleagues. You will also be responsible for art direction and the on-page look and feel of every article – a visual eye is equally as important as an editorial eye. You will maximise the editorial potential of sports content created by Red Bull’s sport and events teams, leverage our pool of national and international Red Bull athletes, and incorporate this hero content into your year-round editorial narrative. You will be engaged with and reactive to broader narratives in the British sports media, and will be central in carving out Red Bull’s editorial voice on the UK sports media landscape.
You will be inputting content into the content management system and publishing content to the live site, you will also be responsible for maintaining the UK sports homepages. The ideal candidate should have a background in motor sports but have the mental versatility to think across categories to create a holistic picture of the UK sports world. You should already be plugged into networks of freelance sports writers, and be full of ideas how to make the most of a unique opportunity to define Red Bull’s editorial agenda. As well as commissioning text, photography and illustration, there will also be opportunities to attend Red Bull events and work on film and special projects.
You will work alongside an Action Sports editor, who will focus on Bike, Skate, Action and Adventure Sports categories.
