A leading B2B publisher in Central London has an excellent opportunity for a Sub-Editor to work on a well-established and respected title.
Key duties:
Accurate editing of copy supplied by reporters
Rewriting copy taking into consideration house style, subscribers’ interests and optimisation for search engines
Checking facts and stories for accuracy
Writing apt and engaging headlines
Final read of website, daily newsletter and email alert copy
Liaising with reporters, journalists and editors
Sending alerts when news stories are published
Manipulating on-screen copy
Keeping up to date with industry issues
Experience / skills required:
Some previous editorial experience
Ability to rewrite copy when appropriate
Ability to make judgements about news angles and legal issues
An excellent eye for detail
Knowledge of appropriate desktop publishing software such as InDesign and Photoshop
