Further information
An editor is wanted for one of the most prestigious and enjoyable jobs in financial journalism.
Established in 1982, What Investment is a respected monthly magazine and website devoted to providing independent financial guidance and commentary for private investors. Key topics include funds, investment trusts, shares, ISAs and pensions, with a strong focus on how to reduce the cost of investing as well as making better decisions about where to put your money.
You will have a demonstrable record of success in financial media, growing subscriptions and/or readership and launching successful brand extensions such as events. A primary focus on the needs of a consumer audience is essential, and since What Investment readers place a premium on accurate analysis and independence of thought, these will be among your chief attributes.
You’ll have a strong nose for news as well as a passion for making complex topics simple – all with the end goal of increasing our readers’ confidence, guiding their financial decisions, and ultimately, making them wealthier.
You’ll learn a lot in the job, but you’ll be expected to be conversant with the basics of personal finance. You’ll also have a passion for investing and a determination to increase your knowledge.
For the right candidate, this is a tremendously fulfilling role, and a rare opportunity to lead one of the industry’s oldest and most trusted titles.
