Job Description
Wasps invite physiotherapists to join our part-time team as a Community Rugby Physiotherapist (CRP). This is an exciting time to be part of a world-renowned rugby club now based at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.

Our Community Rugby Physiotherapists (CRPs) will be focused on supporting the delivery of our grassroots rugby initiatives within the Warwickshire, Birmingham and Oxfordshire community on behalf of Wasps. The aim of the role is to provide high quality physiotherapy and medical care to players in the Under 7s to Under 16s age groups through our community rugby programmes.

Our physiotherapists are responsible for co-ordinating and implementing the medical plan for the participating players. This will cover medical, rehabilitation, injury prevention and specialised duties as required.

    Individual Requirements:
Wasps will provide a Certificate in Premiership Rugby Community Sport. Our Community Rugby Physiotherapists will possess:

• BSc Physiotherapy or equivalent for a minimum of three years
• CSP registration
• HCPC registration
• Evidence of working as a physiotherapist for a minimum of three years

You will also be able to communicate effectively and present a highly professional image when representing Wasps; establish positive working relationships with voluntary and professional staff in clubs and schools, and balance a determined application of the role with a sense of fun and enjoyment.

In addition you will possess a valid UK driving licence and have an understanding and commitment to equal opportunities in employment and sport, and an understanding of individual responsibility in complying with Health and Safety policies and arrangements.

    Responsibilities:
To provide accurate diagnosis and oversee treatment and rehabilitation of participating players. Formulate, co-ordinate and supervise detailed recorded prehabilitation and rehabilitation programmes for participating players. Liaise with our full-time staff regarding the progress of all injured players to ensure accurate injury information can be disseminated to the coaching staff and parents. Provide event physiotherapy cover to participating players.

    Duties include
• Keeping documentation on all aspects of injury management in accordance to the standards set by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
• Completion of all England Rugby Injury Report documentation
• Assist in keeping accurate detailed records of all injuries (training and playing)
• Liaise closely with the full-time staff during residential events regarding assessment findings and treatment progression for the players, injury status and progress on a daily basis
• Assist with treatments and prehab/rehab for participants as required.
Provide event physiotherapy and pitchside trauma cover for participating teams / players as required.
• Maintaining a good working relationship with all key personnel, colleagues and players as well as outside the organisation, in order to support and promote Wasps
