BSc Physiotherapy or equivalent for a minimum of one year
CSP registration
HCPC registration
Means of transport.

Desirable Criteria:
Pitch side trauma care qualification (ICIS)
Have worked as a Physiotherapist in a Rugby Team

Job Description:
The Physiotherapist will be responsible for co-ordinating and implementing the medical plan agreed & supported by the Head Academy Physiotherapist for the London Irish Academy players (Age group 13-18). This will cover medical, rehabilitation, injury prevention and specialised duties as required.
The role consists of 3 evenings a week for 26 weeks of the year along with some occasional holiday camps days. The evenings clinics will be split over three different locations, therefore the applicant must have their own means of transport and be willing to commute. The three sites will be split between Sunbury, Southampton and Reading.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide diagnosis and oversee treatment and rehabilitation of the Junior Academy players. Liaise with the Head Academy Physiotherapist regarding the progress of all injured players to ensure accurate information can be delivered to the Academy Coaching staff.
The candidate must be reliable, have good communication skills, organised and have a desire to develop on their current knowledge and skillset as part of working in a professional rugby club.

Duties include:
Keeping documentation on all aspects of injury management in accordance to the standards set by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Liaise closely with the Head Academy Physiotherapist regarding assessment findings and treatment progression for the players, injury status and progress on a weekly basis.
Assist with the scheduling of injured players as required.
To co-ordinate rehabilitation requirements, programmes and progression in conjunction with the Head Academy Physiotherapist and Strength & Conditioning coaches.
Maintaining a good working relationship with all key personnel, colleagues and players as well as outside the organisation, in order to support and promote London Irish.
To keep abreast of current best practices, maintain CPD and take an active role in the departments CPD programme.
