Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Oxford United Football club within our female set up. We are currently recruiting a qualified Physiotherapist or Sport Therapist to join the medical team at Oxford United Football Club for the start of the 2016 season in August.
The successful applicant will work within our Girls Regional Talent Club (RTC). Oxford United Football club have recently been given Tier 1 RTC status.
The role will be part time working for our U14 and U16 Girls RTC squads on a Tuesday Evening, (covering training) and Saturday mornings (providing medical cover for matches). You will be expected to travel with the team whether home or away on the Saturday morning.
Training nights: you will be expected to lead a prehab session with your squad and be pitch-side for any immediate injury attention. You may also be required to assist in the onsite treatment clinic for rehabbing and treating injured players.
Match days: To provide safe and effective immediate pitch-side care. You may also be required to assist with warm ups and cool downs.
You will be expected to keep accurate records of players seen during training and match days and report these back directly to the Head of Academy Medical.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to be involved in our in service educational programme which runs throughout the season lead by our Academy Club Doctor. There are also opportunities to gain work experience across our Female Programme and Boys Academy Programme with in the Sports Science and Medicine department (inclusive of physio/sport therapy and sport science/strength and conditioning employees).
Essential Criteria:
• Graduate BSc (Hons) in physiotherapy /sport therapy/sport rehabilitation
• Already hold a Sport first aid certificate
Desirable Criteria:
• Previous experience of working within a sporting environment
• Already hold FA BFAS/ IFAS
