Award-winning medical magazine Pulse is looking for an eagle-eyed graduate to work as clinical features assistant.

Pulse – the UK’s leading magazine for general practitioners – is looking for a bright clinical features assistant to take charge of commissioning and policing the educational content of our print and online publications.

The job is an ideal starting position for a graduate keen to break into medical publishing or journalism.

A successful candidate will have a journalism or science background and an ability to edit copy tightly and work collaboratively in a small team. Technical experience of HTML and/or video editing will be an advantage.

Profile

The role is an ideal starter job for an individual looking to start a career as a commissioning editor in the healthcare media sector. You will need to be able to independently manage a range of clinical commissioning and editing tasks, occasionally working to tight deadlines, and take responsibility for the day-to-day management of our Pulse Learning website. This role is not for a candidate seeking a position as a reporter or news writer.

Key responsibilities

Commissioning and editing clinical articles
Day-to-day management of our educational website for GPs, Pulse Learning

Job role

Working with doctors to commission and edit clinical feature articles and educational modules
Uploading content to our website and dealing with user enquiries
Creating questions to check learning for our CPD modules
Filming and editing video modules
Writing our weekly email newsletter and coming up with ideas to improve open rates
