Scholarship Physiotherapist – Wakefield Trinity RLFC

Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Scholarship setup of First Utility Super League club Wakefield Trinity. The club requires a part time Physiotherapist to provide medical provisions for the Wakefield Trinity RLFC U16’s Scholarship Squad for all training sessions. Working independently and reporting to the Head of Academy the candidate would be responsible for assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of all u16 Scholarship players.

You will be a qualified physiotherapist and have excellent clinical knowledge, experience and be able to demonstrate the ability to independently manage a sporting caseload.

It is essential that you are HCPC and CSP registered. An ICIS or IMMOPF qualification would be desirable but not essential.

Duties:
· Provide injury assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of all u16 academy players.
· Be responsible for immediate first aid for any acute injuries sustained during training and on match days.
· To be able to design and lead injury prevention programmes specific for Scholarship ages players.
· Be able to educate players as required on injury prevention, rehabilitation and wellness.
· Be able to conduct injury specific functional rehabilitation and return to play protocols.
· Responsible for the upkeep and security of medical records and documents in adherence to CSP/HCPC standards.
· Liaise with the Head of Youth in regards to player training availability and injury progression.

Screen new Scholarship athletes and collect relevant paper work

Be aware of and adhere to child protection/safeguarding issues
Ideally the candidate should have experience in a club environment either amateur or Scholarship level and hold an emergency first aid qualification at minimum and be looking towards obtaining and IMMOFP qualification.
