THE ROLE
The primary objective of the role is to support the delivery of a world leading Performance Medicine service to England Women’s Development teams. This service will support the Coaching and Talent Identification processes and will provide performance advantages through optimal availability of players.

The successful candidate will assist in the development of FA Medical policies and guidelines across all levels of Football, as well as being responsible for the delivery of exceptional Sport and Exercise Medicine services to Women’s Development Teams as required.

Key elements of the role will include:
•Leading delivery of world class Sport and Exercise Medicine services to specific Women’s teams as required. This will include travelling nationally and internationally with teams, providing medical care and match cover for tournaments and training camps
•Assisting in the management and development of Consultant (Itinerant) Doctors working within the Women’s Development teams
•Assisting in the development of guidelines, policies and related educational content for all aspects of Performance Medicine across Football
•Close working relationships with the Women’s National coaches and support staff to ensure a cohesive multi-disciplinary approach at all times
•Developing and maintaining close working relationships with peers in Professional Clubs to enable knowledge of and management of youth International players
•Assisting in the leadership and delivery of key internal and external research projects which underpin future service development and the development of policies and guidelines for the whole game
•Contributing to Working and Steering groups which underpin key strategic aims
•Developing and maintaining an extensive network of organisations and individuals outside Football with whom to share and develop best practice
•Executing additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities

THE PERSON
The successful candidate must demonstrate the following skills and experience:
•MSc or Diploma in Sport and Exercise Medicine (or equivalent)
•Member of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine
•Extensive experience as a Team Doctor in elite sport (minimum 5 years)
•Excellent academic and applied knowledge of contemporary practice in Sport and Exercise Medicine
•Track record of successfully integrating into established and developing coaching teams
•Excellent planning and communication skills with experience in leading and participating in multi-disciplinary teams.

In addition, candidates would ideally possess the following:
•Experience in International sport
•Experience in International or Club Football
•Fellow of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine

You will also demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to work closely with internal and external stakeholders. You will display behaviours to maintain and enhance good relationships which will help develop The FA’s positive professional profile across the business and wider industry.
