Job Description
The successful candidate will play an integral role in delivering and enhancing our strategy to be a strong commercially minded organisation that operates effectively in the face of a reduction in public funding whilst providing world class hockey experiences for members across Wales.
The role will be accountable for the following key tasks:
1. Embed sound and effective commercial principles across the organisation, developing a commercial culture and growing income streams significantly
2. Enhance and lead the delivery of the commercial strategy, returning the projected levels of revenue, sponsorship and partnership support
3. Work with the Board Director (for Commercial) to manage and maximise the use of a Commercial Group and Business Club
4. Develop a brand and product that is commercially relevant and attractive to new partners, sponsors and suppliers
5. Develop and manage appropriate and effective partnerships with a range of key stakeholders such as Businesses, suppliers, social enterprises, charities, other NGB’s, Sport Wales, GB Hockey etc.
6. Ensure an effective merchandising system is in place for players, members and potential customers
7. Source relevant commercial opportunities and manage the sales cycle through to deal closure
8. Secure and manage sponsorship and partnership contracts
9. Create a network of commercial connections and build an association with partners based on shared values
10. Enhance the benefits package for our membership
11. Reduce the cost burden for players representing Wales and GB
