West Midland Foxes are on a recruitment drive ready for the new 2017/18 season. We are associated to Leicester City FC’s Academy Recruitment, which is recognised as one of the best youth academies in the country. We are looking to recruit coaching staff for our brand new Elite & Junior teams starting in May.
ROLE PURPOSE
We are seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to help us at our fantastic football coaching programmes and to deliver quality coaching sessions to young people around the West Midlands.
This is an ideal opportunity to gain vital experience for anyone wanting to work with children, in a professional football environment and to learn from our very experienced coaching staff.
You will coach age groups between the ages of either 7 to 11 (foundation phase) or 12 to 14 (development phase), including individual, small group and full group sessions, implementing a Player Development Programme which maximises the opportunities for young players to reach their full potential across all age groups in line with the clubs player development plan and philosophy. Our Centre Manager will oversee all of this.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver coaching sessions in accordance with the centres syllabus.
Ensure that the registration of players attending sessions is logged, in the correct manner.
Monitor and assess the players in the centre/team in training and in match performances.
Preparing and conducting player/parent reviews.
Providing regular written and verbal feedback to the Centre Manager on player progress.
To manage sides on match days.
Contribute to the Scouting and Recruitment process where appropriate.
Undertake administrative tasks related to the role.
Liaise with parents as required, to communicate any new information regarding the centre/team.
You will be responsible for the welfare of children in your care and should not leave them in the care of others.
West Midland Foxes seek to discover coaches able to deliver with enthusiasm and energy, whilst also meeting the following essential criteria:-
You will be required to work 1-2 evenings and some Saturdays. There is potential to move from 1-2 evenings a week to 3-4 on different programmes that we run, from Lead Coach through to running your own Centre as a Centre Manager one day.
Essential Requirements:
• Minimum of FA Level 2 Coaching Certificate
• Current FA child protection/safeguarding children certificate
• Minimum of current FA emergency first aid certificate
• DBS (previously a CRB)
• Computer literate
• Excellent communication skills
• Understanding of growth and maturity within young players
• Able to demonstrate a desire to develop their coaching knowledge
• Valid driving license
Desirable criteria
• UEFA B License
• FA Youth Module 1, 2
• Experience working within an elite coaching environment
• Knowledge of the MJPL/JPL
