At Turves Green Boys’ School we are building an outstanding and forward thinking Science department. We are a small, close knit team with a real focus on making all aspects of Science engaging and fun whilst ensuring that students achieve excellent educational outcomes. We are developing our own 2 year Key Stage 3 curriculum in line with the new national curriculum requirements. Almost 1/3 of our students choose to pursue separate Sciences at GCSE; we have a generous amount of curriculum time in which we can really develop the range of practical and analytical skills required for students to succeed.

Students get involved in a wide range of extra-curricular activities including: STEM club, Science competitions/visits at the University of Birmingham, ThinkTank trips, Salters Chemistry Camp, Festivals of Chemistry and the Big Bang Show. We will be moving into a brand new building in 12 months; equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories and scope to develop educational provision for 16-19 year olds.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational teacher, from September 2015, who has a real sense of purpose and drive. The successful candidate will join a great team who are passionate about engaging and inspiring young people in their learning and committed to raising standards of attainment across the whole ability range.
