Job Description
The overall purpose of the role is to successfully manage a portfolio of competitions to delivery including the competition information process from end to end (including entries, draws and results), working with key delivery partners. The role holder will also project coordinate the Games programme and coordinate post-Games feedback processes as well as supporting Boroughs and School Games Organisers throughout the London Youth Games programme.
Competition management:
– Coordinate the entry process for the Games including but not limited to: training LYG colleagues, documentation of processes for schools and open; support, management and setup of online entry systems, collecting and communicating entries, formulating draws and communicating information to teams.
– Support the integrity of the Games through fair and correct registration and results procedures. Training and supporting volunteers to ensure schedules are displayed, results are correct and displayed on and offsite and communicated across the network, then documented and filed post event.
– Lead on managing a portfolio of competitions with the events manager, competition director and workforce lead to ensure quality delivery. Work alongside National Governing Bodies to develop plan for each competition.
Project planning and feedback:
– To coordinate and track the project management plan for the Games delivery working with individuals and groups to ensure each Games season is delivered on time and meets expected delivery dates.
– Coordinate the process for gaining the post-Games feedback process with Borough Team Organisers (BTOs), School Games Organisers (SGOs), Team Managers and participants – and feed into the team to support annual planning so we can continually improve their experience.
Local sport growth and development
– Coordinate and deliver the process and publication of information sharing to Team Managers, BTOs and SGOs including but limited to: training if required, entry documentation, rules and version control, meeting contents and Team Manager email and feedback
– Advise and support SGOs by linking to LYG support, promote all aspects of the Games to schools across London.
Other
– To act as an ambassador for the Games throughout London and to raise and reinforce its profile.
– To undertake any other duties relevant to this post as directed by the appropriate line manager.
– To ensure that LYG policies and procedures are implemented and respected both by LYG and its partner organisations.
