The Howard School has opportunities for experienced or newly qualified teachers of History. If you are early in your career or experienced and want to work in a successful and supportive environment then please read on.
Our academic results are outstanding. The Howard is the only non-selective school in Medway that has consecutively achieved over 60% 5 A* – C grades including English and Maths at GCSE. 2013 has seen the school improve yet again with our average point score at 6th form up by 18 points, the highest it has ever been. We remain one of the best performing non-selective schools in the South East.
History is a very popular subject at The Howard and we would want you to be able to teach History at GCSE and ‘A’ level. There may also be the option of ‘A’ level Government and Politics or Sociology for a suitable candidate. The department is cohesive and supportive and Ofsted in November 2013 said:
‘A good school with high staff morale’ (Ofsted November 2013).
We value our teachers and we actively support their professional development. You will have access to on-going professional development including National College accredited courses. We offer an extremely attractive and very competitive financial package.
Visits to the school are welcomed. For an application pack please contact the school by telephone or visit the school website. Any queries please contact Sharon Teachen or email hr@thehowardschool.co.uk.
