Please note there will need to be a degree of flexibility with this role as hours of work may fluctuate depending upon requirement of the role on a weekly basis which will be discussed in more detail at interview.
Job Description:
1. Purpose
Accrington and Rossendale College Football Academy is recruiting a Lead Coach, to help develop players through team/individualised feedback within an U21 ECFA Category 1 games programme.
Reporting to the Academy Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for shaping the success and future development of players within the U21 system. This is a role that requires empathetic and effective work ethic, based on the Academy vision and values, and that harnesses the talent of Academy players in the achievement of key milestones within its player development provision.
The successful candidate must have a flexible and professional attitude; a genuine team player who desires to seek solutions and success.
2. Main Duties and Responsibilities
To assess, plan and deliver Coaching sessions to individual, small groups and teams when required by the coaching programme following the Academy syllabus.
To work towards and support agreed Key Performance Indicators relating to recruitment, development and performance in line with the Academy Philosophy.
To help develop and maintain links with partner clubs, stakeholders and external clients.
Monitor and report on individual player development through player reviews at agreed timescales to provide feedback on current performance and targets for development.
To monitor the transition of players from the Development Squad to the Elite Squad.
To ensure match day protocol is organised and effectively managed to include offsite forms, transport, team sheets, set plays, individual and group targets.
To complete match statistic and match report documents to evaluate all matches.
To integrate with all Academy department staff to deliver a holistic development programme for all players. This will mean working alongside GK Coach, physio, sports scientist and performance analyst to provide in depth feedback to players.
To attend weekly coaching meetings arranged by the Academy Coordinator.
To monitor, review and measure the performance plan of the Academy ensuring its progression and success including attending weekly coaches meetings and monthly present and future meetings.
To ensure kit and equipment is carefully managed.
Line management of assistant coaches.
Assist the Academy Coordinator in the Coaches CPD training programme.
Undertake enhancement of specific personal Qualifications and all CPD provided by the Club and regulatory bodies.
To adhere to all Accrington and Rossendale College Codes of Conduct and Health and Safety standards.
Undertake any reasonable request as set by the Academy Coordinator.
Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required, commensurate with the grade and scope of this post and agreed with the relevant line manager. This may include supporting College events which may be outside normal hours of work.
Exemplify British values including tolerance and mutual respect for faiths and beliefs in behaviour at work.
Promote and safeguard the welfare of all learners including safeguarding against the risk of radicalisation.

Qualifications:
Hold a minimum UEFA ‘B’ Coaching Qualification
FA Youth Award Module 1,2 and 3
FA Safeguarding
FA First Aid qualification
Valid full driver’s licence
Knowledge / Experience:
Experience of working within an elite football environment
Skills / Abilities / Personal Attributes:
A dynamic, hardworking and enthusiastic individual
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrates enthusiasm and is personally committed to achieving agreed objectives
Is aware of own behaviour, strengths and areas for improvement and is receptive to feedback
Displays a high level of confidentiality
Member of the FA Licenced Coaches Club
Other Whole College Requirements:
A commitment to continuing professional development to ensure relevance of both subject specific and, for teaching / assessing posts, general teaching skills.
Proven ability to integrate new technologies into teaching and assessing and evidence of developing and encouraging innovative teaching and learning practice (teaching / assessing posts)
Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the team and the College which may include occasional evening and / or weekend work to support College open days and events
A clear understanding of and demonstrable commitment to Equality and Diversity

To undertake and pass an appropriate Safeguarding & Protecting qualification within 3 months of appointment.
Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in Maths / English (or willingness to complete on appointment)
