Teacher Mainscale: 3 x Class Teacher
Employment Type: Fixed Term One Year
This year we moved into a purpose built, brand-spanking new school building with wonderful indoor and outdoor provision. We are expanding to become a full 2 form entry primary school with 420 pupils and seek to appoint three more aspirational and ambitious teachers who will deliver engaging teaching that meets the needs of all learners and have a positive attitude of self improvement and a commitment to working alongside colleagues to share best practice, learn, reflect and improve. All candidates will be people with a strong vocational commitment to improve the life chances of our children with exciting and inspiring teaching and learning. Does this sound like you?
We have some flexibility to place successful candidates in year groups across the school according to the strengths and specialisms of the appointed applicants. It would be helpful for those applying for a post to indicate their subject specialisms and preferred age ranges. You will be joining an experienced and supportive team of professionals as our school continues to expand in exciting times. As such, this could be an ideal post for an NQT seeking to begin their career under the guidance of knowledgeable and friendly colleagues or for teachers working within mainscale seeking a new post with an ambition to develop their practice in collaboration with colleagues while developing their subject leadership. A full program of NQT support would be available if necessary.
The candidates we are looking for will:
be enthusiastic, well planned and engaging teachers,
be imaginative and creative with their planning, creating exciting opportunities to inspire children to learn and grow,
demonstrate and believe in high expectations and aspirations for all learners in the class,
be confident to engage with parents and develop positive home/school relationships,
have evidence of successful and effective practice in class teaching
be willing to add something extra to the school community by sharing their talents,
demonstrate knowledge of our school in their application and indicate how they believe they could contribute to developing our community and the opportunities for our children,
have a commitment to ongoing professional development and dialogue,
be committed to all children and be willing to go the extra mile,
live life with a smile.
Visits to our school are highly recommended and warmly welcomed. We have scheduled visits to look around at the following times:
Tuesday 2nd June: 9am and 5pm
Thursday 4th June: 9am and 2pm
Please call or e-mail the school office to register for one of the above appointments if you wish to see us in person. The office will be closed for half term break from 23rd – 31st May but open for calls again on the 1st June.
We are committed to safeguarding the safety and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidates will be required to have Disclosure and Barring Service check (formally CRB) in line with the Government’s safer recruitment guidelines. We value the diversity of our workforce and welcome applications from all sections of the community. Sandford St. Martin’s Primary School is committed to equal opportunities.
Closing Date: Saturday 6th June 2015
Interviews will be held on the 15th or 17th June
Should you not be invited for interview please assume your application has not been shortlisted. We try to let people know if this is the case, however sometimes this is not possible due to our workload.
