The Department of Sports Development and Recreation at the University of Bath manages and organises a range of activities under the University’s sports brand – Team Bath. The Physio and Sports Science Centre delivers a range of high quality Sports Science and medicine services to student teams, the general public, performance sports partners and development athletes. The Physio team has a specific CPD programme in place to continually develop practitioners within it, they also link with other sports science services to encourage multi-disciplinary learning.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sports Physiotherapist to lead the physiotherapy service delivery and development of the Rugby Programme at the University of Bath. The post holder will be responsible for understanding the current delivery model and continuing to consolidate the delivery of an outstanding Physiotherapy service. The role will involve analysis, development, management and delivery of physiotherapy services to the University Rugby Programme alongside pitch side cover for the BUCS Super Rugby. Excellent communication with the players, coaching team, support staff, RFU staff and the wider University of Bath staff is essential.
You should be an excellent team worker and be a good communicator and have motivation and enthusiasm for new ideas and to develop excellence. You will also need a significant interest in Rugby as a sport/the development of the University Rugby Programme. You will be required to work flexibly to deliver appropriately to the Rugby programme and its periods of peak demand. Travelling away to fixtures, as well as evening and weekend work will be required throughout the season.
This is a part-time role covering 29.2 hours per week (0.8 fte).
