Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly skilled individual to take on the new role of School Sport and PE Officer for Nottingham City.
The post will commence in September and will be based at Ellis Guilford School and Sports College working alongside the City Physical Activity, School Sport and PE Manager. The focus of the post will be to support and develop Physical Activity, School Sport and PE in Nottingham City with a focus on delivering the outcomes of the Schools Games programme, in particular targeting the less active young people, SEN children and developing leadership skills in young people.
The ideal person will be a self-motivated and innovative sports practitioner who will have the skills and abilities to have a focused role with schools, teaching staff and pupils delivering high quality activity to increase participation, raise the aspirations and talents of young people and develop sustainable structures and pathways.
This post provides an exciting opportunity for an individual to make a significant impact on the lives of thousands of young people in Nottingham City and to build on the outstanding reputation and impact that School Sport Nottingham has made in the last 6 years.
The core hours of the post will be 12pm – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday, term time only although some flexibility will be required to support events planned outside of these hours.
Applicants must be highly organised, work to tight deadlines, be a good communicator and have strong IT skills. They must have qualifications and experience of coaching young people and be able to develop good relationships with key partners. A full driving license and access to a car is essential.
