Teacher of Mathematics – Thames Christian College – Wandsworth

Competitive with pension, private medical insurance and staff fee discount

Small classes, genuinely excellent behaviour, freedom to be inspirational with your own ideas and make a difference so what’s the catch? There isn’t one! If you are an inspiring, committed teacher of Mathematics who wants a different teaching job in an independent school where pupils are inspired to learn, we want to hear from you!

At Thames we have a forwardthinking approach to teaching Mathematics. We use a linear approach, using problem solving and drawing on best practice in other cultures, in particular Asia. Initial results show that our pupils are able to develop a very high level of mathematical expertise. This position could suit an NQT.

We are a thriving small independent school with high expectations of achievement and behaviour. Our pupils are characterized by their development into vibrant young leaders, hallmarked by their integrity and maturity.

Teaching at Thames is inspiring as small classes enable the development of rapport with pupils as individuals. CPD is excellent and new teachers are supported by participation in NQT and Schools Direct programmes. Established 15 years ago, the school has grown consistently each year and is endorsed in the Good Schools Guide and has won six Good Schools Guide awards. The school is a member of the Independent Schools Association and is inspected by ISI.

The role

Teaching Mathematics across Key Stage 3 and 4 in line with the school’s forwardthinking approach

Have experience of working in either the private or maintained system
