Are you an inspirational teacher, passionate about your subject, who would relish working with able and motivated students? Fort Pitt is an over-subscribed, ‘outstanding’, 11-18 girls’ grammar school with a growing co-educational sixth form. The school offers separate sciences at GCSE and A level.
From September 2015 we are looking for a well-qualified and enthusiastic specialist teacher to deliver Physics at A Level and GCSE and to contribute to the Science programme at Key Stage 3. Results at school level and within the Science department are well above national standards; however, we are far from complacent and wish to appoint a colleague who is able to inspire a love of Physics and motivate our able learners to achieve excellent results. We are looking for a scientist who makes use of innovative learning and teaching strategies which challenge and extend students.
The successful applicant will join a collaborative department which has been recognised for its work with STEMNET and by other Science-focused organisations. Our students benefit from a wide-ranging enrichment and extension programme and we would, therefore, welcome applications from teachers who are prepared to contribute to the wider school community.
