In this role the Associate correctly applies the relevant accounting rules and provides meaningful and appropriate financial reporting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Background<\/strong><br \/>\nThe accounting teams within Financial Control are responsible for the preparation of periodic and annual financial reports on behalf of the Bank and the Donor Funds which the Bank administrates, together with setting and maintaining the accounting policies of the Bank. They maintain the financial records for each and provide timely and accurate information on financial performance and financial position. This information enables management to evaluate historic performance and formulate strategy.<br \/>\nThe role interacts with a wide cross section of departments within the Bank to coordinate the receipt and analysis of information required to fulfil internal and external financial reporting requirements. The person is also expected to respond to enquiries from internal and external auditors on areas of work for which he\/she is responsible<br \/>\nFacts and Scale<br \/>\nWorks within one of three teams, each consisting of 4 \u2013 5 full-time qualified accountants with additional qualified accountants recruited for 3 \u2013 6 months annually to assist with peak reporting periods.<br \/>\nResponsible for the accounting for the Bank\u2019s transactions in their particular area of specialisation, contributing to a total balance sheet size of \u20ac70 billion and P&amp;L of up to \u20ac1.5 billion, plus between 180 \u2013 230 Donor Funds with an aggregate value of \u20ac1.5 billion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Accountabilities And Responsibilities;<\/strong><br \/>\nPrepares sections of the year-end financial statements with all required disclosures and notes accurately and to a tight deadline<br \/>\nPrepare periodic internal financial management reporting.<br \/>\nAssesses the impact of the latest IFRS accounting standards on EBRD\/Donor Funds\u2019 financial statements to ensure compliance<br \/>\nEnsures the accounting policies of the Bank\/Donor Funds are up-to-date and consistent with IFRS<br \/>\nUndertakes investigations and inspections of data in accordance with established procedure to identify and quantify potential accounting postings required<br \/>\nMaintains the accounting and reporting systems, files and other records required for the Bank and Donor Funds to ensure accurate and timely information<br \/>\nReviews transactions booked in front office systems and posted to the accounting systems for accuracy and appropriateness<br \/>\nLiaising with Operations and front office teams to resolve booking issues<br \/>\nIdentifies solutions to non-standard tasks\/queries<br \/>\nProvides advice to internal clients relating to relevant financial products or transactions<br \/>\nContributes to the development of procedures to ensure the accounting department best responds to the needs of the Bank\/Donors<br \/>\nReview and sign off of team members\u2019 journals to ensure accuracy<br \/>\nSupervises and trains new team members and year end temporary staff to create a team that is capable of meeting its objectives<br \/>\nProduces work in compliance with the Bank\u2019s Internal Controls Framework<br \/>\nLiaises with internal and external auditors and responds to queries<br \/>\nOther ad hoc tasks as allocated by line manager<\/p><div class=\"rmljh678044a34b74a\" ><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\n     style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\"\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\n     data-ad-layout=\"in-article\"\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-5811055133939296\"\n     data-ad-slot=\"8669520966\"><\/ins>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/div><style type=\"text\/css\">\r\n.rmljh678044a34b74a {\r\nmargin: 5px; padding: 0px;\r\n}\r\n@media screen and (min-width: 1201px) {\r\n.rmljh678044a34b74a {\r\ndisplay: block;\r\n}\r\n}\r\n@media screen and (min-width: 993px) and (max-width: 1200px) {\r\n.rmljh678044a34b74a {\r\ndisplay: block;\r\n}\r\n}\r\n@media screen and (min-width: 769px) and (max-width: 992px) {\r\n.rmljh678044a34b74a {\r\ndisplay: block;\r\n}\r\n}\r\n@media screen and (min-width: 768px) and (max-width: 768px) {\r\n.rmljh678044a34b74a {\r\ndisplay: block;\r\n}\r\n}\r\n@media screen and (max-width: 767px) {\r\n.rmljh678044a34b74a {\r\ndisplay: block;\r\n}\r\n}\r\n<\/style>\r\n\n<p><strong>Knowledge Skills, Experience and Qualifications<\/strong><br \/>\nEducated to degree level<br \/>\nACA qualified or equivalent<br \/>\nFluent English language skills, both verbal and written<br \/>\nSignificant relevant accounting experience, preferably in a Financial Services setting<br \/>\nStatutory financial accounts preparation and\/or audit experience on financial accounts<br \/>\nStrong numerical and financial skills with the ability to interpret financial information<br \/>\nFully competent in own practise area<br \/>\nWorking knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards<br \/>\nStrong computer skills with emphasis on Excel<br \/>\nExperience with SAP or equivalent accounting system preferable<br \/>\nDiversity is one of the Bank\u2019s core values which are at the heart of everything it does.
