The RPA offers members Player Welfare and Representation services as well as RPA Gain Line, a comprehensive national Personal Development Programme, to help support their wellbeing and prepare them for life after rugby. The RPA has also acted as the exclusive commercial representative of the England Team since February 2004. The RPA are committed to providing equal opportunities and to avoiding unlawful discrimination in all aspects of employment.<br \/>\nwww.therpa.co.uk<br \/>\nThe RPA is looking to appoint a Development Manager (DM) to provide maternity cover for 12 months to work with the following 2 elite professional clubs in the London area:<br \/>\n\u2022 England Senior Women\u2019s Squad<br \/>\n\u2022 London Irish<\/p>\n<p><strong>Role Purpose:<\/strong><br \/>\nTo manage the delivery and progress of Gain Line \u2013 the RPA national personal development and welfare programme &#8211; in collaboration with two elite professional clubs, reporting to the Head of Gain Line, with focus on player wellbeing, personal development and career transition.<\/p>\n<p>Role Context<br \/>\nThe Gain Line programme is a personalised support service, backed by investment from Premiership Rugby (PRL), the Rugby Football Union (RFU) and the RPA, to provide a high quality, independent and consistent standard of player care across all elite professional clubs, which recognises that rugby is likely to be the main focus in a player&#8217;s life while they are playing, but that playing rugby represents a relatively short part of a player\u2019s working life.<br \/>\nGain Line supports players throughout their playing career and key transitions in their lives, provides wellbeing support, facilitates learning and personal development, helps players manage risk and maximise their potential as players, as well as preparing them for life after rugby. Research shows that player engagement in such programmes can benefit on field performance.<\/p><div class=\"abkqg6780418a10d08\" ><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\n     style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\"\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\n     data-ad-layout=\"in-article\"\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-5811055133939296\"\n     data-ad-slot=\"8669520966\"><\/ins>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/div><style type=\"text\/css\">\r\n.abkqg6780418a10d08 {\r\nmargin: 5px; padding: 0px;\r\n}\r\n@media screen and (min-width: 1201px) {\r\n.abkqg6780418a10d08 {\r\ndisplay: block;\r\n}\r\n}\r\n@media screen and (min-width: 993px) and (max-width: 1200px) {\r\n.abkqg6780418a10d08 {\r\ndisplay: block;\r\n}\r\n}\r\n@media screen and (min-width: 769px) and (max-width: 992px) {\r\n.abkqg6780418a10d08 {\r\ndisplay: block;\r\n}\r\n}\r\n@media screen and (min-width: 768px) and (max-width: 768px) {\r\n.abkqg6780418a10d08 {\r\ndisplay: block;\r\n}\r\n}\r\n@media screen and (max-width: 767px) {\r\n.abkqg6780418a10d08 {\r\ndisplay: block;\r\n}\r\n}\r\n<\/style>\r\n\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:<br \/>\n\u2022 Manage and progress the RPA Gain Line Programme in collaboration with two nominated clubs.<br \/>\n\u2022 Manage the delivery of the following strategies to players, achieving agreed performance benchmarks including but not limited to:<br \/>\no Career and education planning<br \/>\no Creation of players\u2019 individual development plans<br \/>\no Delivery of personal and professional development workshops<br \/>\no Organisation of career insight, networking and work placement opportunities<br \/>\no Provision of expert player welfare support and coordination of rugby specific welfare programmes<br \/>\no Preparing players for and during their transition into life after rugby<br \/>\n\u2022 Develop and maintain a network of local providers and contributors to Gain Line e.g. colleges, universities, work placement providers, etc.<br \/>\n\u2022 Facilitate the collaboration and integration of Gain Line into the nominated club programmes<br \/>\n\u2022 Maintain a level of independence within the club and ensure all players are fully engaged in Gain Line<br \/>\n\u2022 Observe duty of confidentiality with all player information and in accordance with GDPR requirements<br \/>\n\u2022 Work in conjunction with all other Gain Line Team members to share information, contacts and models of best practice.<br \/>\n\u2022 Assist the RPA Player Welfare Director and Head of Gain Line with the continuing development and implementation of the national Gain Line programme.<br \/>\n\u2022 Deliver mandated programmes as set out by the RFU\/PRL\/RPA Professional Game Board &#8211; Personal Development Group which governs the programme.<br \/>\n\u2022 Assist the wider RPA Team in delivering key organisation objectives<br \/>\nKey Interfaces include but are not limited to RPA Members, RPA staff and Senior Management Team, RPA Player Representatives, RPA Partners and Sponsors, Premiership Club staff, Industry and Recruitment organisations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skills &amp; Experience required:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a successful track record in some or all of the following areas:<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience of learning and development programmes<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience in professional coaching and mentoring<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience of career planning with adults<br \/>\n\u2022 Business development experience, networks and contacts<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience of project management<br \/>\n\u2022 Confident presenting skills and an ability to train groups<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience of professional\/elite sports environment is preferable but not essential<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience of performance lifestyle or equivalent programmes within professional\/elite sport is preferable<br \/>\nExcellent communication skills, technology literacy and the ability to build relationships quickly with players, club officials and external businesses are essential. Being proactive, resourceful and having a positive and flexible approach is required.
